A way of responding that isn’t surprised by phenomena is a bad way. – This may seem to place a high demand on encounter: but it’s actually the opposite — it removes a burden: one relaxes, abates tension, and lets phenomena jut forth.
A stone demonstrates its power in being open. Power isn’t something behind things, acting through them, but rather is them, as they jut forth into uncertain reception.
